(WASHINGTON, D.C.) After securing the first NCAA national title in school history, PLNU Women's Soccer was honored at The White House on Monday.
Point Loma was invited along with other 2023-24 NCAA national championship teams as part of White House College Athlete Day.
The event marked the first time in history that The White House welcomed national champions from all three NCAA divisions.

Bethany Arabe represented the Sea Lions on stage for the ceremony, with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris addressing those in attendance.
Sixteen members of the team were present, along with Head Coach
Kristi Kiely, PLNU President Dr. Bob Brower and Associate Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs Lora Fleming.
After being honored at The White House, the group was greeted by local Congressman Scott Peters and toured the U.S. Capitol.
Point Loma begins its 2024 season on Sep. 5 with a home match against Cal State San Marcos at 1 p.m.
