(SAN DIEGO) Ahead of hosting the NCAA West Regional beginning on Thursday, PLNU Volleyball had a program record four Sea Lions earn All-West Region honors.
Senior outside hitter
Abigail Nua was named both the D2CCA and AVCA West Region Player of the Year, becoming the first Sea Lion to receive either award.
She was joined on the D2CCA and AVCA All-West Region First Team by junior setter
Sophia Baugh and senior libero
Macy Reynolds, while graduate middle blocker
Jill Leslie was selected to the D2CCA Second Team.
Nua and Baugh earn All-West Region First Team honors for the second consecutive season.
Nua leads the region in kills per set (4.97) and points per set (5.60), ranking third and second respectively in NCAA Division II in the categories.
Baugh paces all West Region players in assists per set (11.4), ranking seventh nationally.
Reynolds leads the region in digs per set (5.19), which is 28th best in all of Division II.
Leslie has the highest hitting % (.333) on PLNU, ranking fifth in the PacWest, while leading the team in total blocks (73).
All four were previously selected to the All-PacWest First Team.
Point Loma (24-4 overall) is the first seed in the NCAA West Regional and will host the tournament in Golden Gym Thursday through Saturday.
PLNU will play No. 8 seed Cal State San Bernardino in the first round on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
