AJ Ussery hit the game-winning layup with 0.3 seconds left to lift the PLNU men's basketball team to a 65-63 upset over No. 18 ranked Dixie State. Ussery gathered in an offensive rebound off a blocked shot and beat the defender to basket for the layup to win the game for the Sea Lions. Ussery also led PLNU in the contest with nine rebounds and tied with Hayden Lescault for the team-high with three blocks.
In a game earlier in the week against Cal Baptist Ussery just missed a double-double as he scored 12 points and pulled down nine boards. He went 6-of-8 from the field. He now ranks 10th in the PacWest in rebounding (6.8), ninth in field goal percentage (.554) and fourth in blocked shots (1.7).
