Rodriguez led Point Loma to a 77-71 win at No. 5 California Baptist on Saturday night with 16 points, seven assists and three steals in a second-half comeback. Point Loma trailed 64-54 with 5:52 remaining, but made seven of its last 10 shots in a 23-7 run to close the game. Rodriguez started the run with two free throws and a transition three-pointer to cut the deficit in half. He then assisted two three-pointers by Mike Planeta to make it a one-point game, 66-65, at 3:31. On three-consecutive possessions, he grabbed an offensive rebound that led to a layup by Zach Burnham, assisted a Burnham dunk as the shot clock nearly expired and fed Planeta for another three to put Point Loma ahead, 75-71. Rodriguez had a hand in 18 of Point Loma's points during the decisive run.
