Alex Hernandez shattered the Point Loma school record in the 5k by 14 seconds with a time of 17:01.38 on the first day of the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday, Apr. 13. Hernandez broke Lupe Ambriz's record time of 17:15.08, which had stood since 1994. It was 17 seconds faster than her previous career time and earned the junior an NCAA Provisional Qualifying Standard. She now ranks 13th on the NCAA Division II Performance List.
