Hannah Benoit Bucher was the 2017 PacWest Champion in the 800m. She broke the school and meet records with a time of 2:09.09. Benoit Bucher came from behind in the final 200m, passing three others for the victory. Her time allowed her to eclipse Anette Ronnerman's previous school record of 2:09.43, which had stood since 1991. It also shattered the previous PacWest record of 2:15.60.
