Alex Hernandez became a PacWest Champion when she broke the school, stadium and conference records with a time of 36:13.74 in the 10k at the PacWest Track & Field Championships. Hernandez broke the school record, previously held by Jasmine Marks (36:50.83) since 2005, by over 37 seconds, and obliterated the PacWest previous record time of 37:40.13 (Kristie Sikma, 2013) by over 87 seconds. Mostly impressively she placed her name on the PLNU Track & Field Stadium record board, knocking off Sherri Hall's (Vanguard) mark of 36:16.26 which had stood since 1989.
