Preston Beverly helped put Point Loma back into the regular season title chase with two crucial wins in Hawai`i last week. The junior forward scored a PacWest-leading 40 points on the week to beat Chaminade and Hawai`i Hilo. The win over Chaminade moved the Sea Lions into third place in the conference. Beverly had 14 points in that win, making 6-of-9 shots from the field in 21 minutes off the bench. Against Hawai`i Hilo, Beverly scored a season-high 26 points, making 11-of-16 field goal attempts. Beverly also tallied eight rebounds and five assists in the win. He is now averaging 14.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
