McEwen recorded five saves on 25 shots face, and only allowed one goal over two matches. McEwen played in all 180 minutes helping the Sea Lions to 2-0-0 recorded during their opening week. In the Sea Lions' 1-0 win against Biola, McEwen recorded two saves on 12 shots faced while recording his first career shutout and win. In the next match, McEwen recorded three saves on 13 shots faced allowing just one goal against rival Cal State Dominguez Hills. McEwen led the Sea Lion defense which opened up their season shutting out opponents for the first 165 minutes of action.
