Freshman Alexander Leischner is a stand out leader on the Men’s Tennis team. Leischner suffered an ankle injury halfway through the season, but worked hard to recover and win eight of his last 10 singles matches.

 

Leischners outstanding performance this past Saturday set the tone for the upset against PacWest rival Biola and named him SportClip MVP of the week. 

 

“I like the courts here” Leischner stated “They are exactly the speed I want to play at.”

 

In just two sets, he quickly overcame his opponent 6-1, 6-2 to earn a point for PLNU and give his team a 2-0 lead. His strong service allows him to play a more defensive style. 

 

This matchup concluded regular season play for the Sea Lions, as they tallied their 10th victory of the season.
