Sea Lions Drop Second Conference Tilt

NAIA No. 21 PLNU dropped its second is as many conference games on Tuesday, losing to Concordia 1-0. The Sea Lions fell to 0-2 in GSAC competition and 5-2-1 overall on the season.

"The [PLNU] ladies played really well in the first half," said coach Tim Hall. "We had our shots and had our chances but couldn't get one in. We didn't work as hard in the second half and got beat."

CIU (4-1-2, 1-0 GSAC) scored the only goal of the match in the 10th minute of play when Siobhan McMorrow beat PLNU keeper Tiffany Kracy and sent the ball into the open net.

The Sea Lions took six shots in the first, though they were denied on each. PLNU's pace slowed down considerably and did not attempt a shot over the final 45 minutes. Concordia took eight shots with two on target.

Eagle keeper Bekah Garvin made three saves, stopping shots by Lindsay Bollar, Kelsey Lundberg and Katie Pedlowe.  Kracy stopped one ball for the Sea Lions.

The two conference foes accounted for just 13 fouls, none of which were cards.

The going doesn't get any easier for PLNU. On Saturday the Sea Lions host No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific for a 3:30 pm GSAC match.
