SAN MARCOS, Calif. - In a tough defensive battle Nicole Craft and Kallie Caldwell found a way to each net goals and give Point Loma a 2-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on a in non-league match on Wednesday (Oct. 17).

The Sea Lions (10-2-1) have now won three straight matches and 10 of their last 12. The loss was just the third of the season for the Cougars who fell to 8-3-2.

Craft gave Point Loma the lead on a header in the 35th minute. Kallie Caldwell found Craft in the box off a corner kick and Craft slipped it past the goalie to put PLNU up 1-0.

Caldwell would then net a goal of her on a penalty kick in the 58th minute. The goals were the second of the season for both Craft and Caldwell.

Tiffany Kracy would need to make just one save in the match as the Sea Lions' defense tightened up to give up just one shot on goal, and six shots overall. Meanwhile, PLNU had nine shots and four shots on goal. Seven of those shots came in the second half.

Point Loma's next match will be Oct. 23 at Azusa Pacific. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
