WHAT'S HAPPENING:
The Point Loma women's basketball team will continue its non-conference play this weekend when it heads to Los Angeles to play in the Cal State LA Thanksgiving Classic, Nov. 23-24. The Sea Lions will open the tournament against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at 1:00 p.m. They will then face host Cal State LA on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
FOLLOW ALONG:
Live stats for the tournament will only be available for games in which Cal State LA play. Therefore only the CSULA-Point Loma game will be available to follow via live stats this weekend. The game can be accessed at through the Sea Lions' website at

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
PLNU earned a 59-46 win in its season opener over Biola.
Nyla Bailey led the way with 23 points. The Sea Lions also got 13 points, including three 3-pointers from
Carlotta Kloppenburg. She and fellow newcomer
Jessica Escorza tied for the team-lead with seven rebounds.
The Sea Lions also played strong team defense. They held the Eagles to 26 percent shooting from the field, and just 5-of-21 from 3-point range.
Abby Boorman helped lead the defensive effort with five blocks.
SCOUTNG CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS:
The Toros lost their season opener to San Diego State 66-30. They will face Cal State Los Angeles in its California Collegiate Athletic Association opener on Tuesday, Nov. 20. CSU Dominguez Hills hired Molly Goodenbour during the summer to help turn around a team that went 3-26 last season. The Toros brought back just one student-athlete while adding eight freshmen and five transfers.
SCOUTNG CAL STATE LOS ANGELES:
The Golden Eagles are 1-0 on the season after picking up a 79-65 win over Azusa Pacific. Tessondra Williams led CSULA in scoring with 18 points. Three other Golden Eagles also reached double-figures. Maryum Jenkins led the team with seven rebounds. The Golden Eagles returned 11 letterwinners from their 2011-12 team. They were picked to finish second in the CCAA preseason poll.
NEXT GAMES:
Following the tournament PLNU will return the trip to Biola to play the Eagles on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
