SAN DIEGO—XTRA Sports 1360 AM and Point Loma Nazarene University will team up this winter to broadcast Sea Lion men's basketball.

XTRA Sports, also the radio home of the San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Lakers, will make the games available worldwide on their website via live stream at xtrasports1360.com.

“We are very excited to begin this relationship with XTRA Sports 1360”, said PLNU athletic director Ethan Hamilton. “As we continue our move to the NCAA Division II level, this is another piece to our branding effort in the San Diego community. To be able to partner with one of the top sports stations in town is a terrific step for us.”

Judson Richards, PLNU alum and co-host of XTRA's Charger Power Hour and The Drive, will call the action. Richards will also tape a weekly segment with Sea Lions head coach Bill Carr that will air on The Drive. PLNU Associate AD Russ Blunck will also handle play-by-play for some of the contests.

“XTRA Sports 1360 is all about San Diego Sports, and Point Loma Nazarene University is an essential part of the San Diego sports scene,” said XTRA Program Director Brian Wilson.  “We're very excited to add the Sea Lions to our lineup.”

Seventeen games will be on the air, which began with PLNU's Nov. 17 Homecoming battle with Northwest Nazarene. This week, home games vs. San Diego Christian on Wednesday (7 pm) and Saturday against Azusa Pacific (4 pm) will be on the air. Each broadcast will include a 15-minute pre and post-game show.

For Point Loma, who is in its first season of competing in the NCAA Division II Pacific West Conference, it is also a first to have games broadcast live on a San Diego radio station. PLNU's men's and women's basketball games will also continue to be available via pay-per-view video stream at www.plnusealions.com.
