Sea Lions continue PacWest play at Dixie St.

WHAT'S HAPPENING:

After taking a competition hiatus over Finals week, the Point Loma men's basketball team will jump back into Pacific West Conference play on Dec. 15th when it takes on the Red Storm of Dixie State. The game will tipoff at 6:30 p.m. (PST)

FOLLOW ALONG:
For fans that will not be making the trip to St. George, Utah they will have three options to follow along with the game. The first will be through the radio on XTRA Sports 1360 AM. Russ Blunck will be stepping in on the road to cover the game. It can be heard via audio stream at http://www.iheart.com/live/249/. A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma is currently 2-5 on the season. It has lost its last three games all by a combined 11 points. Four of the Sea Lions' seven games this season have been decided by five points or less. PLNU would currently lead NCAA Division II in scoring defense with 53.1 points per game, however the Sea Lions are not listed in the NCAA rankings during their two-year transition from the NAIA to Division II. Point Loma is limiting opponents to 39 percent from the field and 26 percent from long range. PLNU has allowed just one opponent all season to eclipse 60 points, and that was San Diego Christian in overtime (68-63).

AJ Ussery leads PLNU in blocks (1.3), assists (3.0) and rebounds (5.7). Todd Campbell is the team's leading scorer with 8.0 ppg. Campbell also ranks second on the squad in assists (2.7) and rebounds (5.4). Oivind Lundestad, Weston Ehlers and Sam Okhotin have each hit nine 3-pointers to tie for the team-lead. Ehlers leads the team with 1.42 steals per game.

A LOOK AT DIXIE STATE:
The Red Storm are 5-3 on the season and 2-1 in the PacWest. They picked up wins at home against Hawaii Hilo and Chaminade to start the conference season before falling to Fresno Pacific on the road by two (82-80). Zach Robbins is the two-time reigning PacWest Player of the Week. He is averaging 13.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He is shooting 66 percent from the field. Dalton Groskreutz leads DSC with 14.5 ppg. McKay Massey is pacing the squad with 39 assists and 18 treys. As a team, Dixie State averages 78.8 ppg and shoots 53 percent from the field. Opponents are averaging 75.3 ppg and shooting 43 percent against the Red Storm.
