SAN DIEGO – PLNU dropped its second match of the day, losing 3-0 to Northwest Nazarene (25-22, 25-11, 25-19) in the night contest of the 15th annual Seaside Invitational. The contest was the final of six Seaside Invitational matches played in Golden Gymnasium Friday.

The Sea Lions (0-2) coughed up a four-point lead in the opening set, going from being up 16-12 and then 20-18, to losing 25-22. The Crusaders (2-0) ended the set on a 6-0 run, erasing a 22-19 deficit.

NNU charged out of the gate in set two, taking a quick 6-0 advantage and eventually pushed their lead to 11-1. When the Sea Lions finally started playing better it was too-little-too-late, the Crusaders easily winning 25-11.

The Crusaders wrapped up the triumph in the third set, 25-19.

Delaney McCraney led PLNU with 10 kills. Her counterpart, Becky Flores had 15 winners for NNU.

Point Loma plays twice on Saturday: at 3:00 p.m. versus Southern Nazarene and at 7:00 p.m. against CSU Dominguez Hills.
