[Box score]

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Dixie State handed the Point Loma women's soccer team its first PacWest Conference loss of the season with a 1-0 win on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Kelsey Hansen scored the lone goal of the match in the 67th minute when she beat the Sea Lions' goalie in a 1-on-1 situation.

The loss puts PLNU (6-2-0) and Dixie State (4-3-2) into a tie at the top of the PacWest standings at 4-1-0. The loss also snaps the Sea Lions' six-match winning streak. The goal for the Red Storm in the 67th minute also broke the Sea Lions' consecutive minute shutout streak at 445. The streak began Sept. 4 against Central Washington.

Tiffany Kracy, who was in goal for much for the shutout streak, had seven saves on the afternoon for the Sea Lions who were outshot 16-6. Amanda Mitchell had two shots to lead all PLNU shooters.

The Point Loma women's soccer team will now head home to take on Cal Baptist on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m. This match was just recently moved to PLNU from Riverside, Calif., home of Cal Baptist, due to the expectation of extreme heat conditions.
