THIS WEEK:
PLNU heads up to the Bay Area this weekend to take on a pair of Pacific West Conference foes. Saturday, Oct. 12, the Sea Lions will take on Academy of Art in San Francisco at noon. Then on Monday, Oct. 14, the ladies will face off against Holy Names at 1:00 p.m.

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma is 5-4-1 (4-1-1 PacWest) coming off a four-game homestand against the four PacWest Hawaii schools. The Sea Lions went 3-1 last week, the only blemish coming in a 1-0 loss to Hawaii Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Sea Lions currently sit third in the PacWest standings behind Azusa Pacific and Cal Baptist. Sophomore
Natalie Swift is tied for seventh in the conference with four goals this season, and
Leah Porter and
Claire Mathews are both tied for fourth with three assists apiece.
RHOTEN NAMED PACWEST FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK:

Dottie Rhoten was selected PacWest Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6. Rhoten helped the Sea Lions go 2-1-0 on the on the week. The Huntington Beach, Calif. (Huntington Beach HS) native scored twice in the first 4:13 to lead the Sea Lions to a 4-0 shutout victory over Chaminade on Oct. 3 in San Diego. She is second on the team this year with eight points as she has recorded three goals and two assists over nine matches.
A LOOK AT THE URBAN KNIGHTS:
Academy of Art is 2-7-1 this season (1-3-1 PacWest) and currently sits ninth in the PacWest standings. The Urban Knights are coming off a 3-0 loss at Dominican Sunday Oct. 6. Louise Fillingham leads the team with four goals, which is tied for seventh in the PacWest. Goalie Rachael Rempe is also tied for fourth in 43 saves this season.
A LOOK AT THE HAWKS:
Holy Names is 3-6 this season and this searching for its first PacWest win, going 0-4 in conference play so far. The Hawks are coming off back-to-back losses to at Dominican and Academy of Art. Alyssa Flores leads the Hawks with 10 points and five goals, which is good for fifth and fourth, respectively, in the PacWest.

The Sea Lions have just one match next week when they return home to face California Baptist on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 11:00 a.m.
