Second half surge lifts Domincan over PLNU

SAN DIEGO - Jacob Noisat came off the bench to score a game-high 15 points and grab six rebounds to lead Dominican to a 59-41 win over the Point Loma men's basketball team on Saturday (Feb. 2).

The game was a story of two halves as the teams battled in the first 20 minutes, with Dominican holding just a two-point lead at the half (22-20). In the second half after the teams traded baskets, the Penguins were able to pull away with a 22-5 run that stretched over 10 minutes.

Blair Banker paced PLNU with eight points and five rebounds. He would help the Sea Lions jump out to a 9-2 lead to start the game as he scored four of his eight points during the run. AJ Ussery also added eight points for Point Loma.

The win moves Dominican to 11-8 on the season and 7-4 in the PacWest. The Sea Lions now stand at 3-15 on the year (0-10 PacWest).

Point Loma will be back at home on Monday (Feb. 4) to host Notre Dame de Namur starting at 7:30 p.m.
