Box Score HONOLULU - The Point Loma volleyball team saw their rally fall just short against Chaminade in a 25-12, 25-22, 17-25, 22-25 and 15-10 loss on the road on Friday, Oct. 17.

The loss was the second straight for the Sea Lions (12-8, 9-3 PacWest) to open the second half of their Pacific West Conference schedule. The win moves Chaminade up to 11-10 on the season and to 4-7 in conference play.

The key to the match was hitting efficiency. The team that had the higher hitting percentage in each set was able to win the set each time, and in the end it was Chaminade outhitting PLNU .237 to .160.

Delaney McCraney was the aberration however, as she posted 18 kills with a .516 hitting percentage.
Heather Leavitt (12) and
Alyssa Dwyer (10) also had double-figure kills for the Sea Lions.

Suncica Bakic and Cassie Rushlow each had 14 kills to pace the Silverswords.

Point Loma will play its next match on Saturday, Oct. 18 against No. 4 nationally ranked BYU-Hawaii starting at 5:00 p.m. (PST).Â
