Box Score SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma volleyball team earned its fifth straight win by sweeping Chaminade 25-18, 25-21 and 25-18 on Friday, Nov. 7.

The win keeps the Sea Lions (17-9, 14-4 PacWest) playoff hopes alive with two matches remaining in the season. PLNU, which is ranked No. 10 in the NCAA West Region, got revenge for a loss against Chaminade (12-16, 5-13 PacWest) earlier in the season by dealing the Silverswords their fourth straight defeat.

Bethany Mandon was a dominate force in the middle for the Sea Lions. The freshman recorded a match-high 13 kills and six blocks while also posting a .579 hitting percentage. Fellow middle blocker
mcKensey Wise added six kills and just one error in 10 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage as the Sea Lions controlled both sides of the net throughout the contest.

Point Loma's defense stymied the Silversword attack all evening holding them to a .046 hitting percentage and only one Chaminade student-athlete had double-figure kills. PLNU also outblocked CUH 7.0-3.0 and had 10 more digs (57-47). Chaminade did not hit over .097 in any set and had only eight kills in each of the first two sets.

Savannah Wedemeyer had 35 assists and three service aces in the three sets. She added 12 digs to post the double-double.
Heather Leavitt led PLNU with 15 digs and
Christin Fisher had 14.

The Sea Lions will close out their home schedule on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 5:00 p.m. against Hawaii Hilo. PLNU will honor its three seniors,
