#8 Point Loma travels to Bay Area for two matches

This week
The PLNU women's soccer team will travel to Academy of Art University to play the Urban Knights on Thursday Oct. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Then on Saturday, Oct. 24, the Sea Lions will play at Notre Dame de Namur at 11:00 a.m.

The PLNU women's Academy of Art match will be available for viewing through live stats and live video. Live stats will be free of charge while the matches will be $8.00 on a pay-per-view basis. A look at the Sea Lions
The Sea Lions' 1-0 loss to Concordia over the weekend not only broke a three-game win streak but also represented a decision for first place in the PacWest. Concordia now sits at first. The Sea Lions are 8-4-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the PacWest. PLNU is currently in a four-way tie for third in the PacWest standings with 15 points. The Sea Lions are also ranked No. 8 in the NCAA West Regional poll, which was released on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
 
Keagan Bolibol had a pair of assists in the Sea Lions' match against Chaminade and she is now tied for third in the PacWest in assists with three. Easton Kawawaki leads PLNU with three assists. Michaela Maes and Cori Deason have also registered a pair of goals for the Sea Lions which have outscored their opponents 13-5 over 12 matches this season.
 
As a team, PLNU is leading the PacWest in goals allowed per match (0.43). The Sea Lions are also fourth in save percentage (.833) and have given up 10 less shots on goal than any other team in the PacWest this season (30).
 
Oriarte amongst the Elite
Point Loma junior Ariel Oriarte has been among the PacWest and NCAA leaders for the second straight season. She leads the PacWest and ranks 12th in NCAA Division II allowing just .416 goals per match. She has helped PLNU shutout its opponents in .583 percent of its matches. That percentage ranks Point Loma second in the PacWest and 21st in the country. Oriarte's seven shutouts also lead the PacWest.
 
A look at the Urban Knights
Academy of Art is 4-8-0 on the season and 3-4-0 in the PacWest. The Urban Knights followed a three-match winning streak to start PacWest play with four straight losses. They will be looking to break that losing streak when they host PLNU on Thursday. ARTU has scored 11 goals in 12 matches this season while allowing 19.
 
A look at the Argonauts
Notre Dame de Namur is 2-10-0 on the season and 2-5-0 in the PacWest. The Argonauts will be trying to snap a four-match losing streak when it hosts Azusa Pacific and PLNU this week. NDNU is being outscored 22-7 this season.
 
Next week
The Sea Lions will return home for its last pair of home matches against Hawaii Hilo Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 1:00 p.m. and BYU-Hawaii Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:30 a.m.
