Box Score FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds shocked the Point Loma volleyball team by taking Saturday's match in four sets, 15-25, 26-24, 25-19 and 25-17.
 
PLNU falls to 7-6 (2-3 PacWest) with the loss as FPU improves to 2-8 (2-3 PacWest).
 
Heather Leavitt was one of the bright spots of the night for Point Loma with match-high 19 kills and 18 digs. She now has double-figure kills in all 13 matches, and double-doubles in eight. Christin Fisher also had a match-best 26 digs and Bethany Mandon posted seven blocks.
 
Point Loma opened the match by hitting .345 en route to taking the first set but after that they seemed to lose their rhythm and were outhit in the next three. FPU finished the match with a .224 hitting percentage while PLNU was at .179.
 
Gabriela Macedo paced Fresno Pacific with 18 kills, and added 12 digs. Sarah McCann had six blocks and 12 kills.
 
Point Loma will return home to start a six-match homestand beginning with Hawaii Pacific on Monday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
