HILO, Hawaii - The Point Loma volleyball team exacted revenge on Hawaii Hilo for its loss last month with a 25-12, 25-19 and 25-19 sweep of the Vulcans on Thursday, Nov. 12.

The Sea Lions improved to 17-9 and remained fourth in the PacWest standings at 11-6.Hawaii Hilo dropped to 11-9 on the season and to 9-8 in the PacWest.Â
Bethany Mandon and
Heather Leavitt posted 12 and 13 kills, respectively, to lead all scorers. Mandon also led a dominant effort by the Sea Lions defensively at the net. Mandon and Harty each posted six kills blocks as the Sea Lions outblocked UHH 11-2. Leavitt had a team-leading 17 digs to go along with her 13 kills for the double-double. Savannah Wedmeyer registered three aces to go along with four kills (no errors) and 32 assists.

In addition to winning the battle at the net, PLNU also had a big edge in hitting percentage (.304 to .087).
