Box Score SAN DIEGO - The Sea Lions dominated the paint to send seniors

Jessica Johnson away from their final game at Golden Gym with an 85-51 victory over Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday, Feb. 26.
 
This was the third straight win for the Sea Lions (17-10, 14-5 PacWest) and their eighth in their last nine games. The victory combined with a win by California Baptist over Fresno Pacific, clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Pacific West Conference Championship for the Sea Lions. They will play the No. 6 seed on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 11:00 p.m. The loss drops NDNU to 4-22 on the season (2-17 PacWest).
 
Roya Rustamzada and 
Riley Abraham each recorded double-doubles, and Escorza scored a game-high 19 points and dished out five assists in the win. Rustamzada shot 7-of-11 from the field to score 18 points. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, had five assists and four steals to post her third double-double of the season. Abraham registered her fourth double-double of the season while coming off the bench with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Twelve different Sea Lions scored in the game.
 
Led by Rustamzada and Abraham, the Sea Lions capitalized on their size throughout game. They outscored the Argonauts 38-4 on points in the paints and outrebounded them 52-40. The 52 rebounds matched the season-high for Point Loma. Incredibly PLNU also outscored NDNU 30-0 on points off turnovers.
 
Amy Woo scored 13 points to lead the Argonauts. Taylor Dewees added 12 points and Kirsten Liana topped the team with 11 rebounds.
 
The game was back-and-fourth early before Point Loma went on a 21-4 run to seize control and take a 41-24 lead into halftime. Early in the second half Point Loma put together an 11-0 run which extended their lead to 22 and it would go on to cruise to the 34-point margin of victory.
 
The Point Loma women's basketball team will travel to Dixie State to close out the regular season this Saturday (Feb. 28). The game tips off at 4:00 p.m. (PST)
