ELLENSBURG, Wash. - For the second straight day, and the second straight match, the No. 20 Point Loma volleyball team fell to a top 25 opponent at the GNAC/PacWest Crossover Challenge. No. 19 Western Washington had the Sea Lions' number on Saturday morning as the Vikings defeated PLNU 25-21, 27-25 and 25-15 (Sept. 12).

The Sea Lions slipped to 4-3 with the loss as WWU improved to 6-2.

Heather Leavitt had a match-best 16 kills, but missed a double-double for the first time this season as she had only eight digs.
Savannah Wedemeyer had 36 assists and
Christin Fisher added 19 digs.

Point Loma could not find its offensive rhythm because of a strong Vikings defense. PLNU was held to a .182 hitting percentage and were outblocked 6-4. Meanwhile, WWU posted a .337 hitting percentage and just six hitting errors all match.

Rachel Roeder led WWU with 10 kills, as five Vikings had at least six kills in the match.
