SAN DIEGO - Three Sea Lions scored over 20 points and the Point Loma men's basketball team needed every one of them as they held on to defeat Holy Names 90-84 on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The Sea Lions are back over .500 with an 8-7 record (4-5 PacWest). The loss drops HNU to 3-14 on the season and to 2-7 in the PacWest.

Mike Planeta scored 18 of his career-high 25 points in the second half. He went 7-of-13 from the field, 3-of-6 for 3-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 at the free throw line. He had two of the biggest baskets of the game with a late 3-pointer and a fast break dunk to seal the win.
Tanner Lancona added 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
Josh Rodriguez had 20 points to go along with nine assists. PLNU also got eight points apiece from
Zach Burnham,
Chad Watkins and
Jack Langborg. Point Loma shot 53 percent in the game and 48 percent from behind the arc.

Joshua Crum had 19 points to lead five Hawks in double-figures.

Point Loma led just 43-42 at the half. They surrendered the lead at 52-50 but they answered with a 10-0 run and the Sea Lions would never trail again. HNU had the game within single-digits the whole second half, but PLNU never let them go ahead.
