Westphal recognition night set for Feb. 3Coach
Bill Westphal has been at the helm of the PLNU women's basketball team for the past 17 years, and prior to the season he announced this would be his last year on the bench. Join us on Feb. 3 as PLNU Athletics pays tribute to coach Westphal with a ceremony prior to the game. A look at the Sea LionsThe Point Loma women's basketball team (12-5) has moved into sixth place in the PacWest standings with a 6-4 record. The Sea Lions have won their last four games in PacWest play to erase the memories of their 1-3 start. Point Loma has gone 3-2 in PacWest road games this season.

Madison West leads PLNU and ranks sixth in the PacWest with 16.6 points per game. She is second in the PacWest with 3.1 treys made per game while ranking sixth in field goal percentage (.463) and third in 3-point percentage (.449). She is also fourth in the league in minutes played (35.2).
Alex Brunk leads the PacWest with 35.9 minutes played per game. She is 12th in scoring (14.2), eighth in rebounding (8.0) and third in steals (2.4).
Roya Rustamzada is sixth in the PacWest in steals (2.3), ninth in rebounding (7.7) and 10th in assists (3.4), while averaging 13.2 points per game.
Sydney Tonack gives PLNU its fourth double-figure scorer. She is averaging 10.8 ppg, to go along with .707 free throw percentage (ninth PacWest) and 1.5 blocks (seventh PacWest).

As a team, the Sea Lions are averaging 68.7 points per game and are allowing 62.8 ppg. Point Loma ranks second in the PacWest in 3-point percentage (.365).

A look at the SunbirdsFresno Pacific is 2-14 this season and 0-10 in the PacWest. Currently, the Sunbirds are on a nine-game losing streak and have not won in 2016. FPU is averaging 56.1 ppg and are allowing 73.3 ppg. Taylor Caspers leads the team with 10.6 ppg, and Megan Lee is second on the squad with 9.8 ppg. Hannah Ramirez paces the team with 5.5 rebounds per game.

Battle of the Dorms on Jan. 26The Point Loma Athletic Department will host the Battle of the Dorms on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Golden Gym. The Point Loma men's basketball team will take on Bethesda at 7:00 p.m. Show your school spirit with all your fellow hall mates by showing up at the game and getting loud. The dorm with the most school spirit will be crowned the winner at halftime and will win a Chick-fil-A party.
Military Night Returns on Saturday, Jan. 30
PLNU Athletics will host its second Military Night of the year on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2:00 p.m. The Sea Lions will be honoring all former and active military members, and their admission to the game is free. Fans in attendance also will received a free PLNU camo logo t-shirt which will be used as part of the in-game recognition.
