Abbey Teagle scored a goal and assisted on another to
Kaiti Freeberg to help lead the Point Loma women's soccer team to a 2-0 win at BYU-Hawaii to begin its four-match Hawaii road trip.

This was the seventh straight shutout for Point Loma which remained tied with Azusa Pacific atop the PacWest standings at 9-2-3 (7-1-1 PacWest). The loss dropped BYU-Hawaii into a tie for seventh in the standings at 4-5-1 (5-7-2 overall).

It was not until the 27th minute that Teagle would sub in but she made an immediate impact. She made a great cross to
Kaiti Freeberg in the 31st minute to get PLNU on the board. She added an unassisted goal in the 41st minute when she got a 1v1 and beat the keeper for the score. It was the third goal (and second assist) in the last five matches for the freshman.

With the lead the Sea Lions defense and goalkeeper
Ariel Oriarte locked in to earn another clean sheet but it was not easy. BYU-Hawaii was up for the challenge, and did not back down. They managed to get six shots off on the Sea Lions' defense, with two coming on goal, but Oriarte and PLNU's stood up to the test. Oriarte made two saves in the contest. BYU-Hawaii's Jaylie Jensen made three saves for the Seasiders.
