HILO, Hawaii - For the first time in three seasons the Point Loma women's soccer team dropped back-to-back matches in PacWest play when it fell to Hawaii Hilo 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The Sea Lions (10-4-3, 8-3-1 PacWest) fall back to third in the PacWest with 25 points. This was the first conference win for Hawaii Hilo (3-7-2, 1-6-4 PacWest).
The Vulcans made the most of their four shots. All four were on goal and two were able to slip into the net. Hawaii Hilo took the initial lead with a goal off the post in the 21st minute. Point Loma fought back to tie the game in the 51st minute on
Keagan Bolibol's first goal of the season.
The lead was short lived as UHH responded in the 55th minute. Following a free kick, Nicole Ramirez was able to collect the rebound and find enough space to slip the ball into net.
Point Loma had some looks in the final 35 minutes but the Vulcans' defense held strong and did not allow the equalizer again.
Point Loma will close out its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Azusa Pacific. The match will start at 2:30 p.m.
