SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma volleyball team pulled out a five-set victory over Chaminade, 25-18, 16-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-10, on Monday, Sept. 26.
This was the fourth straight five-set match, and fifth of the season for the Sea Lions (4-9, 2-2 PacWest). PLNU is now 2-3 in those matches. The loss drops Chaminade to 7-5 on the season and to 1-2 in the PacWest.
Samantha Krakower saved her best for last as she posted six of her 12 kills in the decisive fifth-set to deliver the victory to Point Loma. She fueled a 10-1 PLNU run that saw the Sea Lions overcome a 10-1 deficit to close out the set and the match.
Brianna Sizemore had a match-high 15 kills to lead the Sea Lions.
Ashlynn Fresques added 11 kills and nine digs.
Christin Fisher had a team-best 22 digs in the match and
Cara Keturakis dished out 43 assists. Chaminade's Daisia LaBrie matched Sizemore's 15 kills to pace the Silverswords.
Point Loma will continue its season on Saturday, Oct. 1 when it hosts Hawaii Hilo at 5 p.m.
