The second-place Point Loma women's basketball team will welcome in Dixie State for a PacWest Conference contest on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. The Sea Lions have won eight straight games to improve to 13-2 on the season (7-1 PacWest). Dixie State is near the bottom of the standings at 2-7 (2-13 overall).

A look at the Sea Lions
Point Loma (13-2, 7-1 PacWest) a has not lost a game since Dec. 1. During their eight-game winning streak, the Sea Lions are averaging 71.9 points per game and are outscoring their opponents by 19.1 ppg. Â PLNU has greatly improved its rebounding during that period, as it has outrebounded its opponents by 10.5 per game.

Roya Rustamzada has been a big part of the Sea Lions' effort on the glass, averaging 8.0 defensive rebounds per game to lead the PacWest and rank 13th in the country. Her 9.5 rebounds per game are good for third in the league and 51st in NCAA Division II.
Alex Brunk's 14.0 ppg lead five Sea Lions which are averaging double-figures. Brunk is also leading the team with a 50.4 field goal percentage. Kassidy gengenbacher has been coming off the bench this season but is still second on the team with 12.3 ppg. She shoots 49.3 percent from the field and leads the team in free throw percentage (.782).
Madison West has scored over half her points from behind the 3-point line this season as she has knocked down 32 treys and averages 11.5 ppg. Rustamzada is just short of averaging a double-double as she has 11.3 ppg to go along with her 9.5 rebounds.
Sydney Tonack is averaging 10.2 ppg and leads the team in blocks (13).
Anna Viettry paces the club and ranks seventh in the PacWest with 3.8 assists per game.

As a team, Point Loma is leading the PacWest in field goal percentage defense (35.9) and scoring defense (56.2). The Sea Lions have also committed the least number of turnovers in the league (14.3), and are second in rebounding margin (4.0) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.05). Â PLNU is averaging 70.3 ppg and is shooting 43.0 percent from the field.

Ranked in regional coaches' poll
The Point Loma women's basketball team remains at No. 7 in the latest D2SIDA media poll, which was released on Jan. 9. PLNU has been at No. 7 for over a month, but this week Sonoma State moved into a tie with the Sea Lions for the spot. To

A look at the Trailblazers
Dixie State is 2-13 on the season and 2-7 in the PacWest. Both their wins have come on the road at NDNU (66-63) and Fresno Pacific (72-64). Dixie State is averaging 60.7 ppg and winning the rebounding battle by 1.8 board per game. Jordan Tramina leads the team in scoring with 11.2 ppg. Ashlee Burge is also in double-figures with 10.1 ppg. Lisa VanCampen paces the club in rebounding with 7.4 per game.
