Sea Lions face Lancers on Fox Sports
For the second time in three seasons, the Point Loma and No. 5 California Baptist men's basketball teams will face off on Fox Sports West, Fox Sports San Diego and Prime Ticket in Los Angeles. The game will tipoff at 8 p.m.

The Sea Lions will be trying to control their own fate and clinch a spot in next week's PacWest Conference Tournament (Mar. 2-4) while also playing the role of spoiler. CBU (25-2, 17-2 PacWest) is currently tied for the conference lead with Hawaii Pacific but needs a win to clinch the title. Both CBU and HPU will play their final regular season contest tomorrow.

A look at the Sea Lions
The Point Loma men's basketball team is 14-12 on the season and 10-9 in the PacWest. It is one of three teams, along with Azusa Pacific and Dominican, fighting for the final two spots in the PacWest Tournament next week. The Sea Lions can control their own fate with a victory or else it would need help from APU.

Josh Rodriguez leads the Sea Lions in scoring with 15.4 points per game. He ranks 13th in the PacWest. The sophomore also leads the league in assists with 5.4 per game and is ninth in steals (35).
Vince Boumann paces the conference with 9.0 rebounds. PLNU is also receiving 9.0 ppg apiece from
Tanner Lancona and
Sterling Somers.
Mike Planeta chips in with 8.0 ppg, with 55.4 percent of his points coming from behind the arc.

As a team, Point Loma is averaging 75.2 ppg and giving up 74.0 ppg. They have outrebounding their opponents by 7.0 boards per game and are shooting 45.5 percent from the field. However, the Sea Lions have been hurt by the turnover, giving it away 94 more times than their opponent (356-264).

No. 5 California Baptist (25-2, 17-2 PacWest) has won five straight games since having its 12-game winning streak snapped the last time it appeared on Fox Sports (Feb. 2) against Hawaii Pacific. CBU has clinched at least a first round bye in next week's PacWest Conference Tournament and are ranked No. 1 in the NCAA West Region poll. The Lancers boast the top scorer in the league and No. 4 in the country with Michael Smith (24.5 ppg). He is shooting 48.1 percent from the field. Kalidou Diouf is leading the PacWest and ranked third in the NCAA in field goal percentage (67.1). He is averaging 16.0 ppg and 6.7 rebounds. CBU is second in the conference in both scoring (83.6) and scoring defense (68.9).
