PLNU sweeps DH as Sheppard moves to #2 in wins

SAN FRANCISCO - The Point Loma baseball team swept both games of Saturday's doubleheader to take the series on the road from Academy of Art, 3-1. PLNU received strong pitching and timely hitting in both contests. Adam Rios went 4-for-4 and Trevor Abshire tossed eight strong innings to help the Sea Lions defeat ARTU in the opener, 9-2. In the series finale, Sheppard threw his third straight complete game, and moved into second place in school history in victories, as the Sea Lions won 7-1.
