A look at the Sea Lions
The Sea Lions earned the No. 4 seed by winning the 2018 PacWest Conference Championship. The Sea Lions went on a 16-match unbeaten streak after dropping the season opener in overtime against Western Washington. Point Loma now has the best win-loss record in the West Region and the second-best performance indicator with a 15-1-1 record. During the 16-match unbeaten streak, the Sea Lions have only allowed two goals en route to the PacWest title.

Julia Glaser leads PLNU's offensive attack. She paced the PacWest this season with 13 goals and 28 points. She also set the PacWest record with nine game-winners, including four that came in 1-0 victories. Abbey Teagle was second on the team with two goals and six assists. PLNU outscored its opponents 28-4 this season.

The defense has become the calling card for coach Kiely's team. PLNU led the country in shutout percentage (.824) and ranked second the country in goals against average (.229). Goalkeeper Emma Hinson leads the PacWest and ranks second in NCAA Division II in both goals against average (.231) and save percentage (.915). PLNU has settled into the same starting back 4 since early in October. Keagan Bolibol and Courtney Seman have locked down the outsides, while Madelon Denbaugh and Lauren O'Malley anchor the middle.

Point Loma is looking for its first NCAA postseason win in program history after taking losses to Cal Poly Pomona in 2014 and Sonoma State in 2015. The Sea Lions scored twice against Cal Poly Pomona in 2014 to become the first PacWest team to score a goal in an NCAA West Regional women's soccer match.
