IRVINE, Calif. - The Sea Lions traveled to face the Eagles of Concordia-Irvine on Wednesday afternoon and despite battling to the end, Point Loma fell 5-4 to CUI. Brendon Millington had a great outing for Point Loma taking his singles match 6-2, 6-3 as well as partnering with Jack Alston for the teams only doubles win on the day. 

The men began with doubles play and would finish in sequence with Millington and Jack Alston winning at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, finishing first followed by the doubles matches at No. 2 then 3. Concordia would take both Nos. 2 and 3 doubles but the Sea Lions made them work for the wins as both matches finished with 8-7 scores.

As the match transitioned to singles play Millingotn would finish first at No. 2, getting a quick win for the Sea Lions and evening the match at 2-2. The two schools would continue to trade off matches and were tied 4-4 with only the No. 6 singles left to play. Ben Smit gave it his all the No. 6 position coming back to even the match with a 6-3 win after dropping his first set 6-2. The third and deciding set would go to Concordia though, 7-6, as they secured the match on their home court.
