RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Sea Lions were in Riverside on Thursday afternoon in the first round of the PacWest Championships. Point Loma was the No. 5 seed and faced No. 4 Concordia-Irvine in a matchup that featured two lopsided halves. PLNU would head into the half up 15 points on the Eagles, and Concordia would respond by outscoring Point Loma by 12 points in the second half.
PLNU would only take one three-point shot in the first quarter as they focused their offense on getting the ball inside. The Sea Lions had a three-point advantage going into the second quarter and went on a 21-6 run to push their lead to 18 with three minutes left in the half. Coming into the second half of play the Eagles implemented a press that shut down Point Loma's offense in the third and fourth quarters.
