Tyler Flores! The senior outfielder went 5-for-7 with two home runs, six RBI and four runs scored while reaching base eight times in a doubleheader sweep of Hawaii Hilo on Saturday, Mar. 10. The Sea Lions won the opener 14-4 and the nightcap 6-0.

Game 1: The bats finally broke out in the series against the Vulcans as the Sea Lions put up 14 runs to win 14-4.

PLNU rallied for four in the fourth, two in the fifth and three more in the sixth to build a 9-1 lead after six.
Tyler Flores capped off the scoring with a three-run shot to right field.

Stephen Young (1-2) was one of the beneficiaries of all the runs as he was able to pitch 6.1 innings allowing six hits and three runs (one earned) while walking five and striking out six. He left the game in the seventh and then Hawaii Hilo rallied for three unearned runs, but they would get no more, as the Sea Lions took their first game of the series.

Darian Sylvester,
Colby Kaneshiro and
Tyler Flores each collected three hits in the game as PLNU outhit the Vulcans 14-7. Flores was 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored. Sylvester drove in three runs while recording a double and a run scored.
John Balliet also drove in three runs from his leadoff spot.

Game 2: Flores's three-run homer in the first inning got the Sea Lions out to the early lead and
Wyatt Shackleford took it the rest of the way for his second shutout of the season in a 6-0 victory.

Shackleford dominated through all seven innings. He allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out six. He opened the game by striking out the side in the first inning and at no time did a Vulcan runner reach third base.

The top four batters in the Sea Lions lineup combined to go 6-for-14 with four RBI and four runs scored.
