SAN DIEGO - With rain on the forecast for Thursday, the Sea Lions moved up their match with Arizona Christian to Wednesday evening. To accommodate the late time of the game the women played to clinch and would sweep the match with 5 straight wins. 

Carolina Cuevas and Gabi Armas would start the match with a dominant doubles win, 8-1. Nikki Newell and Ellie Gamble partnered for the first time this season, playing at No. 3 doubles, and earned an 8-2 win to help keep the momentum in the Sea Lions favor. A tough match at No. 1 doubles also went in favor of PLNU as Shelby Groeneveld and Michelle Torres earned the 8-6 victory over the Firestorm. 

Heading to singles play the team needed only two wins in order to clinch the match. Playing on court 1, Nikki Newell earned a quick win for the Sea Lions, 6-0, 6-2, putting the team within one point of victory. With several courts on the brink of completion, it was Taylor McGowan, playing on court 5, who earned the fifth and final win for Point Loma, 6-2, 6-4, clinching the match for the team's sixth consecutive victory.
