SAN DIEGO–The Sea Lions kicked off a three-game stretch of facing some of the top teams in the PacWest on Tuesday night. Biola came into the night with one conference win over Fresno Pacific and was voted to finish second in the conference in the preseason poll. Last season saw these two teams battle it out in tight matches, with each team winning on the road. Point Loma made sure to get the home win, and they earned it in dominating fashion with a sweep of the Eagles.

The first set saw the Sea Lions climb out of a 21-15 deficit to send the match into extra points, where they came out on top 27-25. Down 4-0 in the second set, Point Loma went on a 10-0 run to take an early lead in set two, but the Eagles would storm back in similar fashion to the Sea Lions first set, but a huge kill from
Cara Keturakis would give PLNU the 25-23 win and the huge 2-0 set lead. Set three was a tight game, neither team allowing the other to put together a solid run. The Sea Lions were able to come out with another solid close to a match, winning 25-22, to complete the sweep.

Freshman
Rachael Schlect led all hitters with 16 kills on a .438 hitting percentage, she also added six digs and three service aces on the night. Keturakis looked solid as she ran an efficient offense, putting up 31 assists while also totaling five kills and five digs.
Kayla Chapman was the only other Sea Lion with double-digit kills, totaling 10 on the night to go along with four blocks.
