SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma volleyball team put together its best statistical match of the season en route to a sweep of Chaminade on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Â
PLNU came into the match trailing Chaminade in the standings, but the play on the court and the box score did not reflect it. The Sea Lions doubled up the Silverswords in hitting percentage (.333 to .162) and outblocked them 10-0. However, the most impressive stat was Point Loma committing just five hitting errors in the match, with no more than two coming in any set.
Â
"This was about as clean and as dominating an offensive performance as we could have had against a good team," said Point Loma head coach
Jonathan Scott.
Â
Madie Fox and
Jaime Cymbaluk each hit over .346 while recording 10 kills apiece. Fox added seven assisted blocks.Â
Flavia Virgili added nine digs and five assists in her first start at libero.
Cara Keturakisadded 32 assists and eight digs. No student-athlete for Chaminade posted double-figures in kills while they had 24 errors as a team.
