Words from coach Matt Logie
On Somers' performance: "Sterling was tremendous. He's just such an efficient player, and he is so solid with what he brings to the table. It's a lot our offense to be very versatile, and we certainly needed that today with some guys battling back from illness. He really set the tone for us.

On Jordan May's performance: "I thought Jordan May stepped up big for us in the opportunity tonight, and that was great to see because he's certainly capable of nights like this. We've been trying to get him going, so it was great to see those guys step up the way they did. We grew this week in practice, and it carried over to the game tonight."

On opening PacWest play with a win: "Road wins are always valuable in conference play, and it was great for us to get on the road quite frankly. We were able to circle the wagons and spend some time together preparing the way you do on a road trip. I thought we were really locked in, and that carried over to some good things on the floor for us tonight."

On the game: "Our guys made a few runs tonight, and we were able to build you know multiple leads. Dominican battle back, they play hard, and they've got a talented guard trio that allowed them to kind of ebb and flow. I think that runs that we made were very reflective of the areas that we're trying to get better on, so that was great that we're able to do that multiple times throughout the game."
