SAN DIEGO – The No. 16 Point Loma men's basketball team hit a school-record 19 3-pointers and cruised to a 106-47 victory over Hawaii Pacific. (Feb. 21)

Daulton Hommes paced five Sea Lions in double-figures with a game-high 28 points. He was aided by a perfect 6-of-6 effort from behind the arc.
Sterling Somers added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Preston Beverly was efficient as always from the floor. He went 6-of-8 to score 16 points, to go along with eight rebounds.
Brock Mackenzie knocked down 4-of-5 3-pointers to finish one point off his career-high with 12 points.
Ben Okhotin hit three 3-pointers en route to his 11 points.

The game was never in doubt as Point Loma jumped out to a 14-4 lead and went up by 43 points at halftime (64-21) after Beverly tipped in a shot right before the buzzer. The Sea Lions shot .735 percent in the half and went 12-of-15 from 3-point range.

In the second half, PLNU extended its lead to as many as 68 points. The 59-point margin of victory was the largest ever for PLNU in a PacWest Conference game.

Ronald Blain led HPU with 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting.

PacWest Implications
The win moved PLNU one victory away from clinching at least a share of the 2018-19 PacWest Conference title. Point Loma currently leads Concordia, which defeated Fresno Pacific earlier in the evening, by one game in the standings.
