SAN DIEGO – The Sea Lions earned their second sweep in as many days with a 4-0 win over Biola. Coming off of a 4-0 win on Friday morning, Point Loma came out ready to go Saturday afternoon and put together another solid performance. The team was without their top singles player,
Shelby Groeneveld, but they stepped up to the challenge and earned big wins.
Once again the team swept doubles play to earn the early doubles point. With Groeneveld out, the pair of Taylor McGown and
Nicole Camaratta moved up to the No. 2 singles position and came away with the first win of the day, 6-1.
Gabi Armas and
Ellie Gamble were not far behind earning the 6-2 win over Biola's top doubles pair.
Michelle Torres paired with
Madison McKay in doubles play and they were able to complete the sweep, earning the 6-4 win.
The Sea Lions were able to carry their momentum into singles play and put together three quick wins to clinch the match. Camaratta continued her solid singles play earning the first singles win, 6-1, 6-0, playing on court five. Torres earned the next win for Point Loma, 6-1, 6-1, playing up at the No. 4 position on the afternoon. With just one point left to clinch the match,
Ellie Gamble stepped up and took her match at No. 2, 6-0, 6-2.
