SAN DIEGO---A see-saw affair in the first half was halted by the PacWest Conference due to COVID-19 protocols prior to resumption of play in the second half.
Both teams scored their pair of goals within five minutes of each other, but it was Dominican who put the pressure on Point Loma from the start.
Dominican snapped the Sea Lion's string of matches without conceding a goal, just six minutes in as Brian Sanchez cashed in a penalty after PLNU committed a hand ball in the box.
The goal stopped Point Loma's 571 consecutive minutes without surrendering a point, spanning one month and six matches.
Dominican did not stop there, as Louie Galdamez headed in a cross from Sanchez four minutes later to put Point Loma in a 2-0 deficit.
Point Loma broke through in the 38
th minute as
Nick Eusebio came down the right flank and dribbled into the box, before taking a shot toward the far post. After an initial save,
Parker Scalzo cashed in the second chance to pull with one.
The Sea Lions found the ricochet to their advantage again as Cory Lundeen delivered the initial shot that bounced off the keeper and
Teague Anderson cleaned it up to tie the match at 2 in the 43
rd minute.
Due to the same protocols and procedures that stopped the match, it currently stands as a no contest.
More information will be announced as it is made available.
