BELLINGHAM, Wash---An early conceded goal held up as the difference in the conclusion to the Point Loma Sea Lions 2021 campaign, falling 1-0 to the Western Washington Vikings Saturday afternoon at Harrington Field.
Western Washington took the early lead seven minutes in as the Vikings got the ball into the box towards the left post. A pass to the middle of the field setup a strike across the goal to put the Sea Lions in a 1-0 hole early on.
Western Washington held the advantage in the first half, out shooting Point Loma 9-4.

Emma Hinson kept the Sea Lions in striking distance making eight saves to curtail the Vikings attack.
The best chances for the Sea Lions in the second half came off of set pieces, with a couple narrow misses.
The Sea Lions mustered three shots on goal but Western Washington keeper Natalie Diereckx was up to the task of keeping Point Loma off the score line.
Point Loma concludes the season at 13-2-2 overall.
