LA MIRADA, Calif---Fighting hard through the final set, the Point Loma Sea Lions fell to the Biola Eagles (20-8 overall, 16-4 PacWest) in five sets Saturday afternoon inside Chase Gymnasium.
Point Loma concludes their season above .500 at 14-13 overall, 10-9 in the PacWest.
There was hardly any separation between the Sea Lions and the Eagles as the teams traded leads throughout the match.
In the first set, the errors piled up against the Sea Lions and Biola grabbed the opening game 25-19.
Point Loma came out aggressive in the second set and overcame 9 attack errors with 17 kills. They also withstood a late Biola rally in extra points to take the set 27-25.
Bailey Williams had 7 kills for the Sea Lions across the first two sets, helping tie the match at one game each.
Biola played their cleanest set in the third, winning the set 25-21 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Point Loma responded well in the fourth behind
Grace Hicks, who delivered a match high 16 kills. The Sea Lions had four aces in the fourth set, including Dyer's set-point serve, which tied the match at two games apiece. The Sea Lions won set four 28-26.
But Biola finished off the match 15-9 in the fifth set behind a strong block.

Courtney Dyer had a match-high 31 digs, giving her 667 on the season. She finishes with the 3
rd most digs in a single-season in Point Loma History, 7 shy of Christin Fisher's 674 (while PLNU is in the PacWest) and 13 off the school record.
Dyer also has 1,719 career digs, putting her 5
th all-time in Point Loma history. Dyer is in the top 10 of the PacWest for career digs.
