SAN DIEGO - Cara Liggins scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to help lead the No. 23 Sea Lions to a 73-63 win over Concordia.

Liggins recorded her season-high in both points and rebounds as she posted her fourth double-double of the year. She reached the free throw line 14 times, knocking down 13, as she drew eight fouls against Eagle defenders. Haylee Saurette added 15 points, Kennedi Bryam registered 12 points and Alix Henderson chipped in with 10. Isabel Turk also stepped up with 12 rebounds for PLNU, matching her career-high, to help the Sea Lions win the battle on the glass.

Point Loma trailed early before putting together a 10-0 run to close the second quarter and take a 32-29 lead into halftime. The lead stayed at three (49-46) going into the fourth quarter and was still at three (57-54) midway through the final period when PLNU put together the game-clinching run.

After a pair of free throws by Henderson, Saurette and Byram paired up to hit 3-pointers on three straight possessions to extended the Sea Lions' advantage to 65-56 with 4:16 remaining. PLNU would continue to add on over the next three minutes until a jumper by Henderson gave the Sea Lions their biggest lead of the game at 71-60 with 38 seconds left.

It wasn't just Liggins that lived at the free throw line tonight. PLNU got to the charity stripe 27 times in the game and made 24 of them. Those 24 points accounted for a third of the Sea Lions' total and kept CUI in foul trouble all game.

PacWest Implications

Turning Point
