SAN DIEGO - Five Sea Lions scored in double-figures, and seven had nine or more points, as the No. 13 Point Loma men's basketball team defeated Azusa Pacific, 85-65, for its seventh straight win in Golden Gym. (Feb. 26)

Kaden Anderson led the way with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc.
Myles Franklin and
Noah Stapes each posted 14 points and four 3-pointers apiece. Franklin added a career-best six assists. Stapes filled up the scorebook with eight rebounds and five assists.
Griffin Barker and
Brian Goracke came off the bench to score 10 and 12 points, respectively, on 9-of-12 shooting.
Luke Haupt and
Brock Mackenzie chipped in with nine points apiece. Azusa Pacific's Mandrell Worthy led all scorers with 24 points.

The Cougars came out on fire early, scoring the first seven points of the game but their lead did not stand long as PLNU scored 20 of the next 25 points and never trailed again. The Sea Lions led 47-39 at halftime and quickly pushed it to double-digits with an 8-0 run to open the second half. APU would never get closer than 14 points the rest of the way.

The Sea Lions held Azusa Pacific to 0-for-14 on 3-pointers in the second half and just 5-of-25 for the game. Meanwhile, PLNU went 16-of-33 from behind the arc, matching their season-high in made 3-pointers.

Point Loma continues to hold a one-game lead on Biola in the loss column. Both teams close out their scheduled PacWest schedule tomorrow but are expected to meet in a makeup game next week.
