SEA LIONS DEFENSE HOLDS BIOLA SCORELESS IN 0-0 FINISH

(LA MIRADA, Calif.) PLNU Men's Soccer finished a hard-fought match 0-0 as they battled Biola on the road Wednesday night. The Eagles, who remain unbeaten in PacWest play, were held scoreless by the Sea Lions' defense.

Point Loma's offense was not without opportunity, as the Sea Lions had 11 shots with five on goal, forcing strong goalkeeping efforts from the Eagles. Ultimately, none were able to find the back of the net.

"The game is cruel, but fair," stated Head Coach Phil Wolf. "It's pretty much been a recurring trend for us taking chances. We just need to keep plugging away and hope these chances fall because we are certainly getting the opportunities."

Seth Ketterer posted a strong performance with three saves and 12 shots faced, while Corey Lundeen, Austin Lavell, and Dalton Kinney each forced a save from the Biola goalkeeper.

"Defense played well, the entire back four played well," Wolf said. "Biola got a little loose at the end, counter attacking us, but the guys played really strong. Getting a clean sheet away at Biola is big, it's always tough playing there, but the defense controlled the game pretty well."

Point Loma (4-4-3, 1-1-1) turns around to host three-time defending conference champion Azusa Pacific (3-6-2, 1-1-1) Saturday at 2 p.m.

"Every game is a tough battle for us, each game is super important," stated Wolf. "Even though we are disappointed with what has happened so far, the league is still wide open so we just need to continue to plug away and hopefully good things will happen."
